# The Answer

If you are an Anna University student under Regulation 2017 or Regulation 2021, converting your CGPA to a percentage is straightforward: multiply your CGPA by 10. The formula is Percentage = CGPA x 10. This gives a direct percentage that employers, universities, and application forms can understand at a glance. You do not need to add or subtract anything else under this rule, and you do not need a separate conversion table for most routine purposes. If your CGPA is on the standard 10-point scale, this formula is the one to use first.

# An Example

For example, a CGPA of 8.0 becomes 80% (8.0 x 10 = 80). Similarly, a CGPA of 8.5 becomes 85% (8.5 x 10 = 85). The same method works for other values too: 7.5 becomes 75%, and 9.2 becomes 92%. Just put your CGPA into the formula, multiply by 10, and you have your percentage. It is quick, consistent, and easy to check before you enter it on a form or resume.

# A Note to Check Before You Submit

You may sometimes see an older or third-party variant quoted online: CGPA x 10, minus 7.5. That variant is NOT the rule to use in this guide, and it can understate your result. Do not use it unless your own official documents specifically require it. As a final check, always compare your result with your marksheet and the regulation that applies to your batch, because that official record is final.
