# Fan companion vs official Originle — what originle.app adds
Originle’s official play experience lives on originle.io: watch the day’s guest clips and submit up to three country guesses across eight clues. That is where you actually play.

# What a fan companion is for
An unofficial companion site does not host the game engine. It helps players who want:
- Clue titles summarized so you can talk about a round without spoiling answers in group chats
- An archive view of past days for practice or streak review
- Lightweight score notes (how you paced guesses, which clue flipped your mind)
# What it is not
- Not the official Originle product
- Not a place to replace watching the real clips
- Not a spoiler dump of today’s answer (good companions keep spoilers out of the homepage)
# When to use each
| Need | Go to |
|---|---|
| Play today’s round | originle.io |
| Clue titles / archive / score notes | originle.app (fan companion) |
# Why this matters for Wordle-like daily puzzles
Geography/culture quizzes reward process notes. Keeping a short companion log makes tomorrow’s shortlist sharper without turning the daily into a spoiler race.
Bottom line: play on originle.io; use originle.app as an unofficial fan companion for titles, archive, and score notes when that fits your routine.
