Three groups ask about Great Clips prices more than almost anyone else: veterans and service members, seniors, and parents of kids who need frequent trims. The questions are usually the same: Is there a special price for me? Is it better than a coupon? And where do I find today’s offer?
This guide answers those questions using two sources only: Great Clips’ own announcement of its 2026 Veterans Day program, and a public study of 960 real Great Clips coupons that GreatClipsDeal recorded from Great Clips’ official Facebook advertising between December 30, 2025 and July 6, 2026 (189 days, 44 states and provinces). Where neither source has data, this page says so instead of guessing.
# Quick answers
| Group | What we know | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Veterans and active military | Free haircut (or a free haircut card) at U.S. Great Clips salons on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2026 | Go on Nov 11, or take the card and use it later |
| Seniors | No national senior price is published; any senior discount is a local salon decision | Ask your salon, then compare with today’s coupon |
| Kids | No national kids price in the coupon data; kids’ cut pricing is set locally | Ask whether today’s coupon covers a kids’ cut |
| Everyone | Most common coupon prices: $10.99 (192 coupons) and $9.99 (170) | Use a coupon in that range rather than waiting |
# Military and veterans: the Veterans Day free haircut
Great Clips announced on October 20, 2026 that its annual “Thank a Veteran” program runs again this year. According to the company’s announcement:
- When: Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
- Who: U.S. veterans and active military service members.
- What: A free haircut at a U.S. Great Clips salon that day, or a free haircut card to use on a later visit.
- Pay it forward: Customers who aren’t military personnel can visit a U.S. salon on November 11 and receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran or service member. Those cards are redeemable through December 4, 2026.
- Canada: Great Clips’ program page says participating Canadian salons offer free haircuts or cards on Remembrance Day (November 11), so call your local salon to check.
How it compares with a coupon: a free cut obviously beats any coupon. The coupon study’s most common prices were $10.99 and $9.99, and regular prices in the study’s notes run about $15 to $19, so the Veterans Day cut is worth roughly that much to you. If the salon is busy on November 11, taking the card and using it on a quiet weekday later can be the better choice. Just use it before December 4.
Outside Veterans Day: we don’t have data on everyday military discounts at Great Clips. Some franchise owners may offer one, others may not. Ask at the front desk, and if there isn’t one, use the best coupon live for your salon that day.
# Seniors: is there a Great Clips senior discount?
There is no single national senior price in the coupon data we track, and Great Clips salons set their own prices. Some salons may offer a senior price or senior day. Many simply rely on coupons.
A simple way to decide:
- Ask your salon whether it has a senior price and what it costs before tax.
- Check today’s coupon for that same salon.
- Pay the lower of the two. Most salons won’t combine a coupon with another discount, so assume you get one or the other (see the section on stacking below).
For reference, the coupon study found the typical (median) live coupon stayed between $8.99 and $10.99 in every month from January through July 2026. If a senior price at your salon is above that range, a coupon may be the better deal that day.
# Kids: what does a kids’ haircut cost with a coupon?
The coupon study records the advertised coupon price, not separate kids’ prices, so we can’t give a reliable national kids’ price. Here is what helps:
- Read the coupon terms. Many Great Clips coupons apply to a haircut service in general, but terms vary by salon. If the coupon doesn’t mention kids, ask whether it covers a kids’ cut.
- Compare per visit, not per family. If you’re bringing two or three kids, a $9.99 or $10.99 coupon used once only helps one cut unless the terms allow more. Ask how many uses a coupon allows per visit.
- Plan around school photos and holidays. Coupon prices were flat all year in the study. Waiting for a cheaper offer rarely pays, so book when your child needs the cut.
# Can you stack a senior, kids or military price with a coupon?
Usually you should assume no. Coupon terms are set locally, and most offers can’t be combined with other discounts. The Veterans Day haircut is already free, so a coupon isn’t needed that day. On other days, ask the salon which is lower, the discount or today’s coupon, and use that one.
# How cheap do Great Clips coupons actually get?
From the 960-coupon study:
- $10.99 appeared 192 times and $9.99 170 times, nearly 4 in 10 coupons combined.
- Sub-$6 offers ($4.99, $5.00 and $5.99) made up 144 coupons, about 15%. They are real but rare, and they usually run at specific salons for short windows.
- Location matters more than timing. State medians ranged from $8.99 in Texas and $9.99 in Ohio to $10.99 in Georgia and Florida and $15.99 in California.
- Some round-number offers such as $5.00 are dollars-off promotions, not final prices. Read the coupon to know which one you have.
For seniors, parents and service members alike, the practical rule is the same as for everyone: a $9.99 or $10.99 coupon is a normal, good deal. Waiting weeks for a $5.99 offer often means paying full price in the meantime.
# How to find today’s offer for your salon
- Check today’s live Great Clips coupons for your area (GreatClipsDeal lists offers seen in Great Clips’ official Facebook advertising).
- Confirm the coupon names your salon or area and hasn’t expired.
- Ask the salon about any senior, kids or military pricing.
- Use whichever is lowest. On November 11, veterans and service members don’t need a coupon at all.
# FAQ
Do veterans get a free haircut at Great Clips in 2026? Yes. Great Clips announced that U.S. veterans and active military service members can get a free haircut, or a free haircut card for later, at U.S. salons on Veterans Day, November 11, 2026. Cards given out that day are redeemable through December 4, 2026.
Does Great Clips have a senior discount? There is no national senior price in the coupon data we track. Salons are independently owned, so some may offer one and others may not. Ask your salon and compare it with today’s coupon.
Is a Great Clips coupon cheaper than a kids’ haircut price? It depends on your salon. Coupons most often ran $9.99 or $10.99 in 2026. Ask the salon for its kids’ price and whether the coupon applies to a kids’ cut.
Can I use a coupon on Veterans Day? Veterans and service members don’t need one, since the cut is free. Other customers can usually use a valid coupon for their own cut. Ask the salon if it can be combined with picking up a free haircut card.
Where is the data from? Coupon prices come from GreatClipsDeal’s tracking of 960 unique coupons in Great Clips’ official Facebook advertising from December 30, 2025 to July 6, 2026. The full chart, state table and methodology are in the Great Clips coupon prices data study. Veterans Day details come from Great Clips’ October 20, 2026 announcement.
