# Pet photos to video: prompts that actually work
Pets are the most requested image to video subject, and also the easiest to get wrong. What works:
Contents
# Start with a sharp, eye-level photo
Eyes in focus, whole head visible, no motion blur on whiskers or fur.
# Use small, believable motions
- ears twitch, slow blink
- tail wags gently
- head tilts slightly to the side
- fur moves in a light breeze
# Avoid
- asking the pet to run or jump from a sitting pose
- adding a second animal that isn’t in the photo
- very long prompts that fight each other
# Try a no-prompt pass first
Many tools pick a sensible default motion when the prompt is empty, which is a nice baseline.
You can test this for free with GStory Image to Video: upload the photo, add one of the prompts above, and download the clip.
