# PolyTrack: compare attempts fairly
Keep the course and the practice section constant when comparing two attempts. Decide what you changed before driving: an earlier lift, a smaller correction or a more direct approach. If the second attempt goes better, repeat it before calling the change useful. Consistency is easier to interpret than a single lucky recovery.

# Put the note into practice
Open The PolyTrack to choose a course and consult its controls, track previews and import guidance. It is an independent fan site for PolyTrack, the low-poly time-trial racing game by Kodub. The site offers a third-party hosted 0.5.0 player and a directory of 15 official and 15 community tracks. That version is not the latest release.
Try a short session with a single goal. Use a checkpoint reset while learning a section, then restart from the beginning to connect the route. Keep a copy of community codes and check version compatibility rather than assuming every newer map works in this player.
